Season 14: ELEMENTS
Season 14: ELEMENTS will consist of 5 programs of contrasting instrumentation, drawing from the chamber music repertoire for winds, strings and piano including works by
Valerie Coleman, Jared Miller, Reena Esmail, Kenji Bunch, Caroline Shaw and World Premieres by Jessica Meyer and Brad Balliett.
Each program will showcase elements that inspired composers in their creative process.

Musical textures of contrasting densities are at the core of this program starting with the eerie Shifting Landscapes by Vivian Fung followed by Scott Wheeler's celestial work Traveling Light. Limestone and Felt by Caroline Shaw offers a light, pizzicato interlude before ending with the lush and romantic Sextet in C Major by Ernö Dohnányi.

This concert will feature Forces of Nature, a world premiere by Jessica Meyer inspired by the Four Elements (earth, water, ai, and fire). This composition is part of a special collaboration with the students of David West from The Celia Cruz Bronx High School.
Other works on this program will explore different types of natural cycles, such as the Earth's revolution around the Sun with Post Winter Solstice by Gilad Cohen.
